    Default In-browser editing -C4 - LDAP only?

    1. After setting up a site in C4 I verify I can edit a page in C4 and publish a
    page in C4.
    2. close C4.
    3. open FF2 or IE7 (tried both).
    4. avigate to the page I just edited in C4. I click the new "Edit" button in
    my web browser.
The web browser asks me for my CPS login I enter this information. Right
after that it says FTP login incorrect!

After reviewing server logs it appears it's using the same user name supplied
for CPS for the FTP. Where in this case I am not using LDAP and so my user
name for FTP and my CPS username are not the same.

Is this intended use of the much hyped "In-browser editing"? there is no
window that asks you to re-enter this information....no way for the user to
    interact with the problem.

I was really hoping this new method of publishing would be self contained and
allow full access to connections. So far there it appears there are two MAJOR
    issues:

    A) FTP Assumes LDAP
    B) In-browser editing does not use the proxy settings of the browser it is in.
This means the SOAP object generated to CPS will never be able to get around
    Proxy or firewalls.

Perhaps I do not know all the settings yet though, has anyone else tackled
    these issues?

    Please try the below steps:
    1) Administer the CPS managed site in Contribute.
    2) Select Publishing server Category.
    3) Click on Edit connection in the right pane.
    4) Uncheck the option "User must enter the FTP Username and Password" and
provide the authentication details and finish the Edit connection process.
    5) Close the Administration dialog.
Now try the same Edit scenario in IBE.
    Hope this helps you.

    Thanks.

That did work. Thanks for the information.

I guess my only problem now with CS4 is :
    B) In-browser editing does not use the proxy settings of the browser it is in.
This means the SOAP object generated to CPS will never be able to get around
    Proxy or firewalls.
