inch - centimeters

can anyone tell me please where I can change the ruler preferences to centimeters - currently everything is set to inch.

I am using freehand 10 (new user)

Bottom of the document window next to the scroll bar, press and hold to get
the units pop-up.

My status bar doesn't show the ruler units popup selector. The status bar edit menu shows it as available, but the document window doesn't carry it. Did I inadvertantly toggle it locked off somehow?
