Re: Incomplete printing with Illustrator 8.0.1
JR,
Did you mean "fails" to print?
How are you doing the 2-page thing... with page tiling?
Did you try checking the 'bitmap printing' box?
I still have 8.0.1 on one of my machines and, if you'd like, I can try printing the file. It'll be to a different printer, but it might help unravel the mystery... or not. Your choice. If you're going to send me the file, put it in a Zip or StuffIt archive if you can.

Re: Incomplete printing with Illustrator 8.0.1
Harron,
Yes I did mean "fails" to print.
I do use page tiling, but I've never checked the bitmap printing box and have no idea what it does. I'll look into it.
Thanks for your offer to try printing the file. I'm going to hold off on that option because I'm a social worker and as the file stands it contains private client information, a HIPAA issue.
Since posting my problem, I found that the file moved itself up slightly on the pages after I saved, closed, and re opened it. In it's new position on the same pages (6 and 7), the entire file printed, but it wouldn't print in its entirety if I moved the file down again. What does that tell you?

Re: Incomplete printing with Illustrator 8.0.1
John,
That's very odd behavior. I really don't know what's going on.
You don't have a lot of RAM, and that might be an issue when printing a complex IL document. Have you tried bumping up Windows virtual memory?
Realize, too, that you are printing to a non-Postscript device. IL 9 and later gives you an RGB document mode, which is what you want for printing to typical desktop ink jets. IL 8 can only output device CMYK and wants to see a Postscript device. Check this out:
<http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/1a55e.htm>
You might want to try some of the suggestions in that tech doc.
If you can recreate the problem with a non-sensitive file, my offer stands.
