Incorrect EPS/PDF import
I am trying to import numerous one page documents into Illustrator for "pre-prepress." The documents were created in LaTeX and so the "native" format is either PS, EPS, or PDF.
Unfortunately, when I import using PS or EPS the document margins are not respected. Using PDF gives the correct margins, but the stroke weights are all off by 10x.
Other than editing every page (very tedious) is there a work-around for this (IMHO) bug in the PS importer?
This says nothing of the trouble with fonts that I'm having. The (free) TeX-Illustrator.sit package contains the correct TeX fonts, but the printer is still having some trouble. Is there some way to "package" the complete document and fonts -- essentially everything contained in a PDF, but more press-friendly?
Thank you!

Re: Incorrect EPS/PDF import
To repeat something that has been said many times: Adobe has never claimed that Illustrator is a general purpose PostScript or PDF editor. Many times there are issues of font encoding, or other things which have to be fixed.
If you need to do serious PDF editing get Enfocus Pitstop Professional.

Re: Incorrect EPS/PDF import
I guess my search on Support was too narrow: I did not realize that it was well known that EPS import was broken.
I have no use for Enfocus: the press shop is importing as EPS into Illustrator. I had incorrectly assumed that because Apple Preview, Ghostview, and other applications could read the EPS fine that Illustrator (the parent of the EPS format?) would do so as well.
Font issues I expect, gigantic stroke weights and missing margins I find unnacceptable.
