As you wish. Keep in mind there are authorities beyond us... and beyond the websites. Nobel Prize winner Isaac Bashevis Singer comes immediately to mind though by no means is he the only one. It's "oy."

But then again, the verb is "fantasy" not "fantasize" yet no one really buys that nowadays either.

The only thing that I'm sure of is the lack of clear vision in our government.

but talas, it's inappropriate to spread dis-semeniation to strangers in a place that only exist in some creators mind.

Back to original post ... I'm reading his question differently, I think. If he wants to increase the ppi without affecting the image size he needs to go to Image Size, leave Resample unchecked, then type in the new ppi. That will leave the image size the same, but it will change the dimensions of his image. Unless by "image size" he means the physical dimensions, and not the amount of data stored in the image. If he checks the "Resample" box, the dimensions will stay the same, but the total size of the file will increase.

    jonf,

    Read JEJ's post again:

i have an image set at 5 in x 7 in and the ppi is at 175, how do i change
    the ppi and not size.........

He wants to retain a 5"x7" image but change its "ppi". That can only be accomplished by re-sampling. In other words, he wanted to send more pixels to the printer to print the same-size print.

Hence the comments by the various posters about not gaining any new detail.
