InDesign 2.0.2 damaged file... is it fixable or permanently damaged? - Adobe Indesign Windows

I'm working on a long doent, placing text from Word and then reformatting. Somewhere a long the way, my file became damaged. I was able to reopen it and work in the file, but I am concerned if it is still damaged or not. Default InDesign 2.0.2 damaged file... is it fixable or permanently damaged?

I'm working on a long doent, placing text from Word and then reformatting. Somewhere a long the way, my file became damaged. I was able to reopen it and work in the file, but I am concerned if it is still damaged or not.

The first time the file bacame damaged, I had selected all text in a text frame that spanned several pages. Then I selected the Hyperlinks palette so that I could turn off the bounding box on the hyperlinks. When I selected the hyperlinks and selected the options dialog, it never came up and InDesign froze. When I reopened the file, I got a message that the file was damaged and I opened it anyway. I tried again to change the hyperlinks and it crashed again. Finally, after opening the file yet again I managed to open the Hyperlinks palette and I just started selecting links and deleting them.

Now I was working on this same file, but this time copying and pasting items to format into tables into a separated doent. I selected something and InDesign crashed. When I opened up the files again, my original offending file was flagged as damaged, yet I was able to open it.

My question is this, is this file permanently damaged? Can I fix it? Or is it something with InDesign that I need to fix? Please help, this file is about 90 pages and I don't have time to rebuild it.

    thanks,
    Kathleen

Try a Save As and choose a new name. That will generate a completely new
file, which might clear up some problems.

I'm having the same problem in Indesign 2.0.2 + all patches. I also have a damaged file, don't know how it happened ... It's 96 pages, and the problem seems to be on page 26. I can't delete p26, or i cant copy the other pages.

Are there other programs in which i can op indesign files?

    thanks in advance
