What is this "something" you are typing into the frames? Does this problem occur with just the first letter you type? Or does it happen when you get to the end of the first line of text? Does that first line consist of real text or are you just hitting keys are random?

What is your default for first baseline offset? Sounds to me like you must have a large value in there that is pushing everythiing out of the frame.

That seems unlikely for it to happen to any frame in any document.
