InDesign 3.0 Changes Languages

    Default InDesign 3.0 Changes Languages

I was spell-checking an InDesign 3.0 document using the USA Language dictionary. About half-way through the spell check, the language dictionary spontaneously changes to French Canadian. At this point, every word came up for correction in the spell checker.

This appears to be a genuine "bug."

When you say it "spontaneously changed" do you mean that at some point it was English and without your doing anything to the text it changed languages?

Or do you mean that to your surprise you have discovered that at some point in the story, the language changed and you have no idea when or how this happened?

Where did this text come from? Do you still have access to the original? What language does it use?

Damn, this sounds like Word. I finally abandoned Word and went to
StarOffice because of this. I'd be typing along and suddenly it would
think I was typing in French. I realize the French took over England
in 1066, but this is centuries later. I thought we had that stuff
    behind us.

There were some definite bugs in InDesign CS with the spell checker.
Have you applied 3.01 yet? If not, that would be the first step.
