InDesign Crashes when clicking on a textbox or doing other things in the layout mode
When working with a certain document, I encounter crashes in the layout mode (since I am German, please bear with me if I am not using names you are used to). It worked perfectly when I started creating the document, but when I changed some things the next day, it started crashing at almost every action in the layout mode. The changes I made were: Included all linked files in the document, changed the page size from DIN A4 to something three milimeters larger on top, bottom and outside in the document properties, set the baseline grid to start at three milimeters instead of zero milimeters. After that, changing from preview into layout mode or (if it did not crash before) clicking on an object in layout mode caused Indesign to crash.
Trying to undo the changes later did not stop the crashing. Using a different computer (same OS) with the same document also resulted in crashes. Uninstalling and reinstalling Indesign also did not help. So the problem is not related to hardware problems, bad configuration or a virus. I can provide crash logs from Indesign or Dr. Watson, if this is of any help.
Versions used: InDesign CS 3.0.1
OS used: Windows 2000, SP 4
Have you ever heared of such a problem before? Do you think that recreating the document from scratch could work?

Try exporting to InDesign Interchange format (INX) and then opening that
file in ID. It's been known to strip out problems from files like this.

Re: InDesign Crashes when clicking on a textbox or doing other things in the layout mode
Sadly, it did not work.
I tried to find out if the crash always happens at the same action and it does. With the current version of the document, Indesign never crashes when switching to layout mode, but always crashes when clicking on a textbox. So obviously it is not a random error, but a systematic error.
If there is anyone who is able to understand the indesign.log file, here are my last four crashes:

Re: InDesign Crashes when clicking on a textbox or doing other things in the layout mode
When you say you are switching to layout mode, are you changing workspaces?
I have found that after editing a file for a while, switching from one
workspace to another causes a crash. The workaround is to select again the
workspace you are in before making the switch to another one.

Re: InDesign Crashes when clicking on a textbox or doing other things in the layout mode
Ken: No, I am not switching workspaces. I meant, that I switch from preview mode back to the mode where I see all the guide lines etc. The thing you do by pressing W or clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the toolbar.
Bob: I am only using standard system fonts or fonts that came with Indesign. Some formatting information was imported when I imported Word files, but now everything has my formatting settings applied. Is it possible that any of the standard fonts is somehow broken? Is there a possibility to have a look at which fonts are used in a document?
I am currently browsing the forums and seeing a lot of posts regarding crashes after importing files from Indesign 2. That is not really the case here, but I copied some textboxes from an Indesign 2 document to the document that causes problems. However, I worked with the document for hours after doing so, reopened the document several times without any error. So I do not think that this has any relation...
