Indesign CS metadata
Since moving to CS, we've been unable to view tiffs because proprietary software we used was not designed to handle Indesign's metadata. Is there a way to configure Indesign to omit embedding metadata?

Re: Indesign CS metadata
Are you saying that you cannot view TIFFs placed into InDesign or that you cannot view TIFFs exported from InDesign?
If exporting TIFFs from InDesign, you can set up some automated process to convert the images from one format of TIFF to another format of TIFF (there are dozens).

Re: Indesign CS metadata
There are two systems involved. The first, is an ad tracking system with with Indesign CS integration. The TIFF is embedded into the EPS as a preview and passed to a second system where we utilize the low-res for viewing the image. On this second system is where the proprietary software resides and we're told by the vendor that it was not designed to handle Indesign's metadata and that's why we cant view it:
"Preston, the problem with the Indesign images is that they contain meta-data in them that SCOOP was never designed to deal with (basically because its a new thing Adobe introduced in their newer products). When SCOOP encounters the meta-data, it pretty much stops processing the file.
According to R&D to make SCOOP be able to deal with these files would be a large enhancement.
Therefore no sites are saving Indesign images to SCOOP."

Re: Indesign CS metadata
Here's the actual error we relate to our preview problem:
-----
Error reading TIFF file (/scoop/opi/lowres/DispAd_Input/D8579FRZ.tiff):
Cannot handle different per-sample values for field "BitsPerSample".
06/25/04 13:04:05: [19] TIFF file not supported.
