InDesign CS Pages Palette "Checkered" Pattern - Adobe Indesign Windows

Hi, For some reason, a few pages in my doc have a checkered pattern covering them in the pages palette, and the resolution is noticeably worse than those without the pattern. I have tried copying and pasting into a new page contingous with a non-checkered page, which works until I save and re-open. What can I do to get around this? Thanks, Matt...

That indicative of the use of transpareny. Not that transparency
includes blend modes, drop shadows, feathering and the use of graphics
    with transparent backgrounds.

The checkers mean that you use transparency on those pages. If they are printing at a lower resolution it may be due to your tranparency presets.
