    Default InDesign CS Relinking problem

I'm having a problem relinking to images stored in just one folder. I'm having to do every image manually rather than it finding the others automatically.

I have a bunch of images in one folder, that I moved there after placing in InDesign. I need to relink them, so I select a group of images in the Links palette, and click on Relink. I browse to and select the first one, and then expect the rest to Relink 'automatically'. But that doesn't work.

This even happens when opening the document, after I click 'Relink Automatically'.

Does anyone have a fix? Any advice much appreciated.

Default Re: InDesign CS Relinking problem

Is the path for the original folder still on your system, so that InDesign is still searching there for the images? If so, you might try renaming or deleting that folder and then reopening ID. In my experience, if you move your images to a new location, relink to one of them, close your ID file and then reopen it, ID will relink automatically to the rest.

If that doesn't work, the next best (and not very good) solution would be to make a Windows shortcut of the folder where the images now are, and put the shortcut in the folder where ID is looking for them by default. Then you would be just one click away, but you would still probably need to re-link each image.
