InDesign CS transforming hyphenation and spelling plugins
I just bought an InDesign CS CE version (remade and repacked by french company WinSoft - Adobe cooperator) which comes together with original English version included in the same box. The point is that however CE version of InDesign has an English interface I'm not able to apply the 3.0.1 patch for it as it says it won't instal on this language version. For the CE version of 3.0.1 patch I have to wait for some half a year or even more while unpatched version of InDesign CS is not too stable and has some annoying bugs that I hope are solved by 3.0.1.
I wish I could install the originall English version (the licence does allow me to do this) and only transfer the proper plugin that is responsible for Polish hyphenation and spelling and is included with the CE installation.
Please help me on this (where to find the plugin and what files to copy from CE installation folders in order to have the plugin transfered into original English one).
I hope it to be possible as InDesign has modular structure based on plugins architecture.
thanks in advance
Bartek

Re: InDesign CS transforming hyphenation and spelling plugins
Hi Bartek,
Bardzo mi przykro, but it is not as easy as that. The CE versions from WinSoft are different from the original Adobe applications in a number of ways (which is why there is a different software version in the first place and not just additional language-specific plug-ins). Therefore, you can only use patches from WinSoft with the CE software.
The first updates for InDesign CS CE are available from the WinSoft Web site at:
<http://www.winsoft.fr/products/plugins_updates/InDesign/central/ID_CE_Win.html>
Best regards,
Birgit

Re: InDesign CS transforming hyphenation and spelling plugins
Thanks Brigite.
I already installed the b and c patches but the stability of CS version is still far from that of 2.0.2 CE.
I thought it would be as easy as plugin transfer. Actually the only "localized" feature that I require in order to successfully work in English InDesign with Polish text is hyphenation. All other modifications are more or less to be reproduced in some other way and Polish diacritic characters work well in English version with unicode fonts. So I would sacrifice all the other modifications if i only could transfer the hyphenation plugin - am I able to do this?

Re: InDesign CS transforming hyphenation and spelling plugins
I am using InDesign 2.0, as well as 2.0.2 CE. I installed it one year ago and had an English interface w/ Polish dictionary. It worked great. The problem is that my computer crashed and now I can't install it the same way. I can't remember how I did it. When I install the CE, I get a Polish interface. Any help?

Re: InDesign CS transforming hyphenation and spelling plugins
go to Edit - Preferences (Edycja - Preferencje in Polish or just Ctrl+K) and on one of the tabs (Language - Jezyk) you will find language settings like combo box with "Polski" and "Angielski" listings set on "Polski" so switch it into "Angielski") you will be able to switch into English interface without loosing spelling and hyphenation capabilities of the CE version. You have to restart InDesign in order to have the interface language switched.
If you still have any problems describe it here I will try to help you with it.
