Indesign CS1 and Tiger 10.4
I have always found printing from Indesign CS1 to be squirrelly, but as long as the document was not too many pages and didn't use too many fonts it worked ok. But now that I have switched to Tiger, I can't even print a one word test page. I also noticed that when I tried to use my scanner from Photoshop it crashed the program. I never had this problem before I upgraded to Tiger. I would consider this an Apple problem, but the same document I originally tried to print from Indesign I reformatted for Quark and it printed with no trouble.
Does anyone know of a compatibility problem between CS1 and Tiger? I would consider upgrading to CS2, but I don't want to spend more money if it's not going to work.
Any thought? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Shelley

Re: Indesign CS1 and Tiger 10.4
Shelley,
It's a little strange. You spent two paragraphs telling us about your printing problems. Except that you never told us what printer you're using. I'd say that's a pretty big omission!
I've never had a problem printing to my Epson printers from any version of InDesign.

Steve,
I can only see one paragraph in Shelley's post, but I am viewing it on an HP monitor. Could that be it?

I'd bet she has an HP printer, too. A quick search for HP printers on any of the CS forums show what a poor printer driver it has.

Re: Indesign CS1 and Tiger 10.4
If it is the HP issue, just heist the driver off of the 10.3 Install CD using Pacifist (get it at versiontracker.com) and all is well again.
NOTE: This only seems to apply if you didn't do an upgrade from 10.3. All the computers that I upgraded from 10.3 to 10.4 work fine. The ones that came with 10.4 preinstalled OR where I had to do an archive and install were the ones that got the "bad" HP printer driver.
As for the scanner, the likely fix is to go to their website and download the latest software for it and install that. I know HP's recent scanner software is quite nice, for example...

Does anyone know of a compatibility problem between CS1 and Tiger?
No, none at all. If you are using plenty of fonts in a document, make sure that the when you print from InDesign, in the Graphics tab, check the Download All Fonts box and click either Subset or Complete in the button above the box. Also give more details about your printer, as the others have requested.
