I'm thinking most perople would have worked out that having so little RAM running on what could be best described as a legacy machine is not really going to cut. You are quite right in saying that the RAM specified was under what it really took.

    Robert,

I am particularly interested in the improvement in printing as a result of increasing the RAM on your machine. What printer were you using and how was it connected to the mac, USB or FireWire?

    Thank you,

The printer is an HP Deskjet 1220c. We use it print out 11X17 proofs for our newspaper. The color isn't exact... but it's actually pretty darn good and affordable.

    We connect directly via USB.

    Hope that's a help.
