Default indesign cs2 crashed for good

My g5 seems suddenly to dislike InDesign :))
Sometime ago i was working on a document (i think it was imported from a pc)and suddenly the programm crashed ....have tried to re-install it several time (i even tried to re-install the all CS2 suite)but as soon as the programm opens it crashes and there is not way to work with it....

has anyone a clue what could that be.....do you think my version of indesign got corrupted (by the way the rest of the adobe suite is running perfectly well)

    Any help is appreciated....Thanks

It sounds as though you have a really corrupt Recovery file. Have you tried trashing the Recovery folder in InDesign Preferences? A reinstall would not have touched that folder.

Extremely important to delete everything Adobe from the prefs folder before reinstalling app.

In the future, trash the prefs first and see what happens. You can also create a new user and see if you can replicate the error.

Ditto what Richard said and then some!. . . been there. There's a document, perhaps on the install CDs for the Suite, that tells what files to remove. It's a horrendous manual process - something like 48 files to remove, (the Premium suite). You'll be cursing the lack of an UNINSTALL feature.

On the other hand, deleting preferences is as simple as restarting and holding down the four modifier keys (Shift+Control+Option+Command) immediately after launch (within half a second).

And deleting the Recovery folder requires just a simple trashing of the one folder in Preferences.

    Ago,

What Dave says: (Shift+Control+Option+Command) immediately after launch (within half a second) . Ya gotta be fast.

I have a similar issue. Have been working with adobe to little avail. In Design crashes for no apparent reason. If I have other indesign files open during the crash they become corrupt. I have had to re-build weeks of work. There is a BUG! Tech support knows about it but??? Will they help???? We have had to save all files as CS files to work on them. CS2 is a pain. My suggestion is to Export all your files as an CS Exchange untill adobe fixes the bug. I am very disappointed in Adobe at this time.
