My Sister's got a course which is going to require her to use InDesign
CS2.

We've got a couple of Apple laptops on hand. A G3 700 iBook with 640
megs of ram (my baby), and a G3 600 iBook likewise. Both are running
Tiger and in fine shape otherwise.

Will InDesign run acceptably on them?

I ask, because I'm extremely reluctant to send her out to buy a new G4
iBook with the new MacBook just around the corner and there's no way
I'd want to send her out with a $2500 MacBook, careful girl though she
may be.

Keep in mind, she's been running most of her stuff (non-graphics,
admittedly) on a Celeron 700, so I'm not sure how bothered she'll be by
moderate slowness.

Alternatively, there's a local store with a G4 Titanium Powerbook @667
at a reasonable price. Would that be any better? It sounds to me,
from looking at other benchmarks, that the G4 Powerbook @ 667 isn't
that far a leap ahead of a G3 700 iBook, except under certian
conditions.
