Default InDesign "Decimal" problem Solved (e.g. 0.500500500500)

    Dear All,

Please update your OS from 10.4.X to OS 10.4.8 directly from the net through software update from the Apple Menu. This will resolve the decimal problem in InDesign.

    Regards,

    Dear John,

Even we are running ID 4.0.4 on OS 10.4.8 and we do not encounter any problem. Try updating ID using "Updates" from the "Help" menu.

Since I'm on 4.0.4, how would that help?

BTW this is on a brandnew intel Mac that came with 10.4.7 and I upgraded it to 10.4.8 even before I installed and updated CS2, because I heard that 10.4.8 fixed the crazy decimal

My shop just bought 3 new boxes... 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors... 1GB ram.

I just checked one of the other ones running IDv 4.0.4 on 10.4.8 and it does the same thing.

The 3rd box does not have CS2 on it yet, but I expect the same.

Has everyone that has had luck been on ID 4.0.4, and THEN updated the OS? I wonder if that could be a factor?

I updated to 10.4.8 long after having updated to 4.0.4. The problem is much less severe for me than it was before, but it still behaves differently than on PPC.

This is in line with what Dov Isaacs reported on this forum when 10.4.8 was released. The OS update helps, but does not completely "fix" the problem.
