InDesign doesn't print complete graphic images
Indesign v3.0, Windows XP Prof, hp deskjet 5650 inkjet printer:
I have placed graphic images in my document (bitmap .bmp). They appear normally in preview mode. They export correctly to a pdf file and can be printed correctly from the pdf file. However, they do not print from InDesign's print dialog. Only part of the graphic is printed. All of the text on the same page is printed correctly.

Re: InDesign doesn't print complete graphic images
Don't use .bmp, a Windows OS RGB image format. Open it in Photoshop and save it as a .PSD file, or a .TIF file. Better for publishing. Look at Image > Image Size. Pay attention to the size in inches and the resolution setting. At the size you want to print it, 200 ppi should be plenty or rez. Both these steps will take care of (a) too large a graphic stalling the ram in the printing process, and (b) a possibly corrupted image file, which is stalling during printing.
BMP = eeeeeeeeeevil. Try the above. It couldn't hurt. Might help.

Re: InDesign doesn't print complete graphic images
The suggestions you made solve the problem. Noone had ever told me about eeeeeeeeeevil before. :-)
I also find that I get better printing quality using the native setup dialog for the hp deskjet 5650 than using only the InDesign printing dialog.
Much obliged .....

Other eeeeeeeeeevil formats: Windows Metafile, Enhanced Metafile, PICT. All formats which don't support the features of modern applications like InDesign, are platform-specific, and/or don't work well in print workflows!
