I agree.

It's certainly not as black and white as some would have it. Every
machine has a usable age, so just because your "professional" tower
that is two years old, and is now slower than the latest iMac, does
that mean it is now now longer a "professional" machine? Of course not.

When buying new, it depends on your own personal usage, your present
and future requirements, etc. An iMac can easily be used as a
professional machine, as can a Powerbook.
