Default InDesign will not EXPORT JPGE

Hi guys, I am doing an DIN A1 poster with a full width large photograph in Illustrator and also in InDesign just to see what software I feel more comfortable for desktop publishing. The poster is going to be printed in Photo Paper in a Hewlet Packard HP 5000 printer (six colors printer). The guy from the printer told me that he cannot use PDF, neither Illu or InDesing files and he needs a TiFF or JPG file. The thing is that when I try to export the DIN A1 poster as jpg, 300 dpi, max quality, the Illustrator and the Indesing always say there is not enough memory and refuse to do the operation. Do you know how can I change that? Can I modify how much memory the software is alowed?

    Thanks for any help! Best!

InDesign will only make a 72ppi Jpeg, not good for printing.

Just make a PDF and open it in Photoshop and save as a TIFF.

but what moron can't open a PDF in Reader and print it?

Yes Buko you are right the printer I am sending the stuff is kind of a moron (besides is a printer is a small town for a travelling fair, I do not expect all printers to have the same knowledge of software)...he does not print from PDF, he just know how to print JPG or TIFF.

    Thanks for the info,

By the way Buko, If I make a PDF open in Photoshop and save as TIFF, could it be any change in colors?

Not if your color management is set up correctly.
