Default InDesign Windows posting to a web site

We currently use indesign for our publications and we would like to post them to our web site. The problem is that the file size is so large that we can not get it to post or open on our site. Any suggestions on how to shrink the file size?

If you are not already zipping or stuffing in an archive then there is not much more that can be done. Try 'save as' a new document to see if that makes a smaller file size.

I'm sure you realize that the files could only be opened by people with
Indesign, right? The way I post my Indesign files is by outputting to PDF as
an e-book. That makes it viewable by anyone with the free Acrobat viewer.
