InDesign won't launch from other than administrator account
This morning I reinstalled Adobe's Creative Suite 2 on my MacBook Pro which is running OS X 10.4.7. The reinstallation was brought about as both InDesign and ImageReady were suddenly refusing to launch.
I began by uninstalling the Creative Suite according to Adobe's instructions. After that I installed CS2 from the CDs. After running the installer I then ran the updater to bring each of the CS2 applications up to the current versions.
I then checked that I could launch each of the CS2 applications, GoLive, Illustrator, ImageReady, InDesign, and Photoshop from both my administrator account and from each of my several user accounts. All went well.
I then ran the updater for Acrobat Pro and again all appeared to go smoothly. Acrobat Pro launched from both my administrator account and my user accounts.
But then, the oddity happened. After the Acrobat upgrade I can no longer launch InDesign from a user account. When I do so InDesign starts to launch but then freezes and has to be force quit. At the point of the freeze the InDesign progress message states "Initializing the SING gaiji system".
So the question is, what has happened to cause this hang and what can I do to fix it?

Re: InDesign won't launch from other than administrator account
This is just a guess, but I think that the problem is with permissions on one or more directories or items in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/
We had a client with a similar problem, and solved it (admittedly with a bit of a shotgun approach) by granting read/write permissions to everyone on everything in that directory.

Re: InDesign won't launch from other than administrator account
Peter,
Many thanks! Changing the permissions as you suggested did the trick and now InDesign launches from a user account.
