InDesign2.0 export to pdf - large file size
I have a 5 mb document. When exported to a pdf from In Design the file size is about 1.3mb, that's the lowest I can get it. If I save a very similar document from Quark as a pdf it's usually about 750kb. I know there's not much difference, but enough for people on dial-up.
I've tried using the optimize for web, reduce file size, nothing seems to work. Is this unusual?
I tried calling the help desk and they told me to try "byte serving", which, from my understanding is default with the optimize for web option. This helps, but not much, that just basically loads the pages separately, kind of like an onload function.
They also recommended possibly creating two documents, one for web and one for print, this just seems redundant.
Any suggestions for an alternate method, or insight on how to get a print document to be smaller in a pdf?

Re: InDesign2.0 export to pdf - large file size
Exporting usually creates larger PDFs. There's simply way more info in
an ID document than you will find in a Quark doc.
If you have transparency in the document, then export using Acrobat 5
compatibility. Or try the print to PDF route.
