    Default InDesignCS and XML Import.

    Is it possible to selectively import certain elements of my XML file into the template that I am creating. Here are my steps.

    Open a new document.
    Window -> Tags --> Load Tags from XML document I have.
    Use the Rectangle Frame Tool to define the simple template and tag frame each of these to the tags from the XML document. ( I don't associate the root of my XML document to any frames).

    The Structure window looks like this

    Root
    sessionTitle (type text)
    date (type text)

    When I import the XML file into the document I see the structure as

    Root
    sessionTitle (type text)
    date (type text)
    techSessionList
    techSessions
    ....
    techSessions
    ....
    techSessions
    ....etc

    I am not sure if I am doing it right and would appreciate some guidance.

    My XML is as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>

    <techSessionsList>

    Default Re: InDesignCS and XML Import.

    Just an update to this thread. I haven't been making a lot of
    progress.
    I have been looking at scripting to accomplish what I was trying to
    do. I have a template with one of the XML elements (One TechSession
    Layout) laid out on the page. Using Javascript I load the XML file and
    then iterate through it.

    Using the template as a guide I am trying to create the same layout on
    multiple pages for all the remaining XML "techsessions" in the
    document. Still testing it and finding what works and what does not so
    any pointer would be helpful.

    Thanks.
