InDesignCS Foreign Language Formatting
I am looking to be able to format the following languages in InDesign:
• Thai
• Indonesian
• Arabic
Does anyone know of a resource for this? I have found paragraph styles for Japanese and Chinese. Is there anything similar out thee for these languages? I'm trying to buy InDesign ME as a last resort for this because it's not something that I will be doing on a regular basis.
Also, if anyone knows where to find an Indonesian font, I've run into a dead end on that one.
Thanks.

Re: InDesignCS Foreign Language Formatting
Any RTL language will require the ME version of InDesign. There is no
other way.

Re: InDesignCS Foreign Language Formatting
I think your problem with finding an "Indonesian font" is that the Indonesian language can be written with pretty much any regular western font that supports English.
Thai is not well-supported in any currently shipping version of InDesign, though for small amounts of text you could just manually use the glyph palette. At least it's right to left.
For Arabic, Bob's right: you need the ME version of InDesign.

Thomas, don't you mean left to right reading?
We have used the English version to create some materials with Thai, the only consideration is that you what out how the words break between lines because some of the phonetics glyphs might not stay with the correct character, and that if you have to re-type something you have to use the glyph palette and build the characters from scratch.

Re: InDesignCS Foreign Language Formatting
Oops, yes, I meant left to right.
Line breaking and justification is an issue with Thai, as you say, because of the lack of word spaces.
