    From Mac Help:
    << Indexing your files

To search the contents of your files, the Finder must index the disk or folder that contains the files. Usually the Finder indexes disks and folders when you search them. However, you may need to update the index.
Select the disk or folder you want to index in the Finder.
    Choose File > Get Info.

Click Content Index, then click Index Now.
You can index any disk or server you have access to. However, if you are not the administrator of the server, the index is only available to you.

The Finder indexes your files using your preferred language and several others. To change the languages the Finder uses to index your files, choose Finder > Preferences, click Advanced, click Select, and select the languages you want.
    >>>>> Hope that helps.

    Ann,

I was wondering if that's what he was asking. I've never done this and I doubt it's that important. Plus, isn't it CPU intensive?

But that's an OS issue, not Photoshop.

    Ed:
I think that Indexing happens automatically in OSX but you had to set the prefs. to do it automatically in OS 9 -- or run it manually.
