Info Palette playing turtle on me

I'm baffled. My Info palette will not open, or open down. It's on my
screen closed and I can't open it!

I feel it's one of those things where I am really missing something
obvious and having a brain fade, but I can't figure it out. I'm trying
to find the word count of my document and just found out you can see
that in the info palette, but now it won't open.

What the heck am I doing wrong?

I selected the text, selected the text frame, selected a graphic to see
it's size and it still won't open, I've clicked the green button, the
double arrows, the red button, I've made it go away, brought it back
open but it's still closed, it's like a clam!

I forgot, InDesign CS 3.0, running on OS X Panther 10.4.8
