chunks such that the start offset is up to 2GB, the maximum size is
2GB, and the sum of the offset and size is 2GB. The old system, of
necessity, used lots of small (2GB) chunks.
If you were to upgrade to IDS 9.40.UC2 (or 9.40.UC1, I suppose, but
why upgrade to a back version), then you would be able to use chunks
bigger than 2GB, with offsets bigger than 2GB. Then you could create
one or two chunks in your 14GB partition.
