#inker silhouette thickness - Macromedia Director 3D

Hey. I?m using the #inker modifier and I was wondering if it was possible to increase the silhouette thickness. I?m asking because this property does not appear in the lingo reference. If there is no such property, is there a way around it? Thanks....

Hey.

increase the silhouette thickness.

i am very interested in this topic!

only thing i found are three propertys which i could not access, if somebody
has any idea about it i would be glad to hear more about.

here is a screenshot where you can see the propertys lineSize, antialias,
lineAlpha:

there you see that there is something going on with the undoented
"nextshader" property. if somebody knows how to use this, i would be glad to
hear about...

by looking into the web i found this thing here, its related to the access of
the "nextshader" and two undoented toon modifiers.

Interesting.
That lineSize property doesn?t seem to work though.
I wonder if there is another undoented inker modifier like there is for
toon.

I had this crazy idea: something that might inrease the thickness of the line
is chaining two inker shaders, one with lineOffset=100 and the other with the
lineOffset=-100. I have tried but I haven?t been able to chain both shaders. I
might be doing something wrong.

The style I?m looking to acomplish is like the one on this car game:
http://www.mofunzone.com/online_games/where_iz_matiz.shtml
Notice the thickness of the silhouette. I also noticed that this size
increases when the camera gets closer to the car, son I think they might have
done this in another way.

Any ideas?

I think I got it.
Check this out: http://www.station-zero.com/medion/demos/custom_toon.html
But I?m still not able to do that in Maya.
Does anyone know how to "inflate" a model in Maya?

Ok, I finally got it working.
In Maya I made a red cube and then I duplicated it and scaled the copy so it
would be a little bit larger.
I assigned a black shader to the copy and reversed it?s normals.
So now I have a red cube inside a black cube with the normals pointing inwards.
When you export to Shockwave3D you see only a black cube; you can?t see the
red one (which is inside). This is because when you export from Maya, "back
face culling" is turned off. That is, you can see both sides of a polygon.
So all you have to do is import the file into Director and add this piece of
code: pModel.visibility = #front
This turns "back face culling" on and ensures that only the front of a polygon
is seen.
Enjoy!
And thanks to http://www.station-zero.com for that article.
