    Default INSERT with double quote?

    If I wanted to insert/update a field with data like this:

    "This is my data"

    How would I go about doing that?

    I have found that I can escape single quotes, so to insert

    'This is my data'

    I just make it like this:

    ''This is my data''

    Taking the same logic, I would have assumed

    '"This is my data"'

    or

    ""This is my data""

    to work, but no :(

    I've also tried slashes, but to no avail... must be easy, but I can't
    find any info on it? :/ (Hate it when Google fails.. heh)

    Thanks in advance...

    This is the correct syntax, but you need to be careful because
    your shell may gobble up the quotes. From within the DB2 CLP:

    db2 => insert into t1 values ('"hello"')
    DB20000I The SQL command completed successfully.
    db2 => select * from t1

    C1
    --------------------------------------------------
    "hello"

    1 record(s) selected.

    From the command line:

    ianbjor@vittoria:~> db2 "delete from t1"
    DB20000I The SQL command completed successfully.
    ianbjor@vittoria:~> db2 "insert into t1 values ('\"hello\"')"

    DB20000I The SQL command completed successfully.
    ianbjor@vittoria:~> db2 "select * from t1"

    C1
    --------------------------------------------------
    "hello"

    1 record(s) selected.
