Inserting a Div within a Frameset

Default Inserting a Div within a Frameset

When you open a frameset in design view, you can click within a frame and edit
that frame's target file. That's a handy feature that has worked for years in
Dreamweaver.

Now the problem, then the workaround.

In DW8, if the edit you are trying to do to the frame is to insert a DIV in
that file you got problems. DW won't let you do it, instead it wipes out the
frameset file and leaves you only with your new DIV (undo restores your
original, but you just cannot insert the DIV.)

If you try to get smart and go to Code View and try to insert a DIV either
using the menu or MANUALLY, DW goes nuts!!! You get error messages out the
ying-yang and you can never dismiss them all. I had to use Task Manager to kill
DW to escape.

Workaround: Close the Frameset (or never open it.) Open the file that will go
in the target window you wish to edit. Insert your DIV just like you always
have and everything is cool.

Disclaimer: Maybe you won't have this problem. Maybe it only affects NESTED
DIVs, which I allow in my DW config.
Here is my system configuration: Win2000 SP4, DW 8.0.1 (the update), P4, 1MB
RAM.
Source Frameset: http://www.austin78704.com/entrance.html which now
successfully contains the .floatright DIV in main.html

I can't believe this. Please give me the exact set of steps you are using
so I can reproduce it.

And please tell me why you are using frames at all?
