inserting html
:confused;
I am using Macromedia Contribute for web design. Would like to add a sitepal
and counter...both require pasting an html. I can't figure out how/where to
paste this, or if its possible. When I paste it now, it shows the code on the
website, and not the icons etc.
Thank you.

Re: inserting html
If you are the site administrator, you can do this in Dreamweaver (or
whatever authoring you have used). If you are not the site administrator,
and if your administrator has given you permissions to use an external HTML
editor, and defined which one that would be, then you can use that option to
insert your HTML. But there is no way to insert HTML using Contribute.

Re: inserting html
My problem is the same, i.e. desiring to insert code for a page counter. What
is Dreamweaver? Another product that I have to buy? I have a 30-day trial of
Contribute 3, and am about to BUT it outright, but if I can't do what I want to
do, I won't buy it.
What do you mean by going to back to what application was used to CREATE the
page? I thought I can use Contribute 3 to create pages, as well as edit and
maintain pages created elsewhere. Please help. Thanks.

Re: inserting html
I'm starting to see people expecting more from this program than it can do O.o
also it is only ?80ish (bargin compared to Frontpage and cleaner HTML too)
CT is a DESIGN based web development program, what you are wanting to do is
CODE, therefore if you are going to be wanting to to this sort of thing DW is a
good choice.
If you have the HTML for the "SitePal" and hit counter try just selecting the
code and copy and paste into your page in CT and see what happens it may work
it may not.
also like support often say you can use an external program to do this
(Notepad is a very nice one :) )
see what happens.
if you are thinking of getting DW I think it is around ?200? (anyone) but it
is MORE powerful.
