Installations problems

theres a red "X" and the corner of the area where the installation video
usually is... so i cant tell if im installing it or not, and i dont think i am,
because other websites the require shockwave in certain pages wont work, and
the "X" comes up. If the website propts me to install it, and its just going to
do i quick install, the "X" comes up and it wont install....
so, i pretty much just need to know why this is happening and how to fix it,

If you don't have Firefox... istall it. It will work in Firefox but
for some reason it ain't working in IE7 and it seems Adobe
(or Microsoft) could care less about it for now.
You'll be able to see the shockwave sites and play games etc.
in Firefox.
