Installing CFMX7 on Windows ME
Hi, I've tried to install CFMX7 four times now, and everytime I've run into
the problem of it just stopping at 'Creating Coldfusion directory' I've left it
running for at least 30mins, and I'm sure it shouldn't take that long to
install?? The worst thing is that I was forced to stop the installation
because it had stopped - Resulting in the uninstaller not working. Similarily
I've tried installing CFMX6.1 too. That worked, but the cfstart threw up an
error, resulting in it just 'finishing' (It said 'finished' in the title bar
just like it does when you run cfstop. Now I used to have CFMX about a year
ago; not sure which version, and it worked FINE! I'm not sure if I'm doing
anything wrong. I double click on the installer file on my D: (Second
harddrive) and it extracts. I click OK after selecting English. I click next
a few time (lol) and then select Developer Edition. I choose Sever
Configuration I choose all three of the option (OBDC services, search services,
and documentations), but I've also tried NOT choosing OBDC and Serach services.
I use the default directory to install to. I use built in web server. I
enter a password! And then also enable RDS and enter a password. *********

512mb RAM, more then enough disk space (As you can see from above), J2SE
Runtime environment 5.0 Update 1, Norton Firewall and Anti-virus. I think
it's important to mention again that my uninstallers for both 7 and 6.1 don't
work. Any tips for me? Is there anywhere I can get an old version of
Coldfusion MX? Any help would be much appreciated, Jagjit Roudh

Re: Installing CFMX7 on Windows ME
My guess is you cant use Win ME. As for finding an older copy, search ebay, or post on these forums that you are looking for an old copy. Sorry about being vague last post.
