Installing PM Plug-in with PM Keyboard Shortcuts
I am about to install the PM Plug-in pack and I chose Custom instead of Typical. There is a checkmark next to PageMaker Keyboard shortcuts and I'm wondering if installing this is going to imediately overwrite my ID shortcuts I've become so used to using. Will my ID shorcuts still be available if I want to change back to them after the plug-in installation? I'd like to have both types of shortcuts just in case.

Re: Installing PM Plug-in with PM Keyboard Shortcuts
It won't override anything. Go ahead and install them if you want to use
PM shortcuts.

Re: Installing PM Plug-in with PM Keyboard Shortcuts
It just adds an extra selectable set of shortcuts alongside the default, QXP
and any other custom sets you've devised.

Re: Installing PM Plug-in with PM Keyboard Shortcuts
Thank you guys. I read your posts and installed the Plug-in pack. I sure am glad I checked this out before actually buying it at for home use. It didn't improve the conversion of my PM documents at all, I expected it to improve a little which is the main reason for getting it in the first place. Secondly it comes with an annoying toolbar that just takes more workspace so I docked it on the left side of the screen and minimized it. I don't think I'll be using that for anything so I may just end up closing it. I suppose the templates could be useful and I AFAICS, it comes with plenty of those to choose from. I just hope I'm not disappointed when I start looking through those. That's my two cents.

Re: Installing PM Plug-in with PM Keyboard Shortcuts
There are some tools on the PM toolbar you might find yourself using: Fit
spread to window; search and text frame properties all save you one mouse
click and once they're absorbed they become intuitive.
Depending on your screen resolution you can slide the toolbar up to the top
so it doesn't take up any valuable space. I've got mine sitting under the
InDesign toolbox on the bar at the top and there's hardly any drop down into
the working window.
If you ever need a datamerge facility, the one in the PM plug-in is good.
The bullets facility becomes very useful once you know how to use it.
And of course you get a 'build booklet' thingy.
