Re: International font problems

The characters are not corrupt. I think what happened is the person or persons that designed Arial CE did a poor job of putting the correct characters in the right places. So when you do a copy paste you end up with the wrong characters.
What you need to do is start using the OpenType version of Arial to get the correct characters when you paste. It may already come with Windows because I don't remember installing it. It was always available as far as I can remember.
I had the same problem you are experiencing and switching over to OpenType solved a whole lot of problems.
Note: I am using Windows XP

What do you mean arabic? Is this Farsi?
You may need to visit www.winsoft.fr for more information but this depends on what kind of project you are talking about. If you are making something that requires just a few characters, go ahead and do so by inserting the special characters you need using the glyphs palette.
There is also a script available if you need to reverse the text to read from right to left.

Re: International font problems To Sam Pearce: I've found that even an updated OT Arial with Central European characters will still drop accented characters when placed. If your source is RTF, try saving it as raw text, in the Windows CE codepage (easy enough to do out of any Word newer than 2000).
and Yasser: The followup post was correct; if you only need to do a title, it would be time-consuming (but cheap, compared to buying Middle-East localised InDesign) to use the Glyphs menu (Type -> Glyphs).
You spend a lot of time looking for your ligatures.
