Internet Explorer Script Error
Hi -
On some (many!) web pages I get "Internet Explorer Script
Error" an error has occured in the script..."
Then I get:
Line: 2
Character: 7
Code: 0
I'm running on Windows XP and can't seem to find any help
on the Microsoft site. If you know of a way I can fix
this problem, I sure would appreciate it. It's a real
pain!
Thanks,
Dan

Internet Explorer Script Error
Line 1
Char 0
Error: Object does not support this property or method.
Code: 0
URL:mk:@MSIT Store:C: Program %20 files\microsoft%20
office\office\1033\pub 6chm:: Pub9html/pubmnui:CONTNT
4010.HTM
This is the error I get when using MS Pub 2000 with XP
Pro. I created the Website. I must have done something
that Pub does'nt like.
Could it be that when I rearranged the URL buttons that
may have caused this error?
I can print the Publication.
I can save the Publication.
I can not use Help.
I can not use Web Checker. They shut down the program.
Is there a way to fix this?
I tried the Regsvr32 urlmon.dll. To no avail. HELP
PLEASE.

Re: Internet Explorer Script Error
Ivan, could you include what is on lines 205-210 of the page?
Thanks,

Re: Internet Explorer Script Error
Open the source-file/web-page directly (outside of contribute) in a text editor
of your choosing (ideally one that has a line-numbering function, like textpad
(www.textpad.com), and go to that line #.
I assume you are an administrator on the website, and can get to the file. If
not, have the administrator perform the above.

Re: Internet Explorer Script Error
I too have the idential problem.
When my customer opens a document using Windows version of Contribute (which I
recommended to him to purchase) it reports an error in the script that I don?t
believe exists (details below). The page displays perfectly in all other
browsers including Mac OSX?s Contribute. The error message is shown below* with
the offending code** immediately beneath it,
*Internet Explorer Script Error

Please let me know if you can find the error or if there is a solution like
tuning script errors off in Contribute.

Internet Explorer Script Error
My client who uses Contribute to edit a site I created for them, continues to
get an "Internet Explorer Script Error" every time they navigate to a new page
in Contribute. It states that an error has occurred in the script on this page.
(It is reading the linked .js file for the site.) They have to click yes or no
to continue running scripts on this page. Has anyone experienced this before
and what solutions did you figure out?

Internet Explorer Script Error
I am not able to run the quick tour in Contribute 4. I get the following error
message: Internet Explorer Script Error. An error has occurred in the script of
this page. Line 2. Char 1. Error: Invalid character. Code 0. URL:
http://www.adobe.com/products/contribute/productinfo/features/brz_tour/contribut
4_tour/featuretour_standalone.swf. Do you want to continue running scripts on
this page? Yes. No.
Regardless of answering Yes or No, the followoing changes: Line 1. Char 1.
Error: Object expected. Code: o. then the same URL.
Next time I hit Yes or No, I get a blank page with a yellow bar at the top
saying: Welcome to Adobe Contribute! To get started, click here.
Clicking the link ("click here") takes me back to the opening window where I
can choose quick tour, and I go through the same as above.
How can I fix this problem. I'm new to Contribute and would like to take the
tour to learn more.
I'm running IE7.
Anyone's response will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Internet Explorer Script Error
This seems to be a security setting in IE7, this doesn't happen with IE 6. Try
adding www.adobe.com to your trusted sites list in IE > Tools> Internet
Options> security>sites. After this, the content inside of Contribute should
work.
