Internet update freezes
When I open Acrobat it goes to update itself via the internet, but the ball just keeps spinning. As a result I can't use Acrobat. What can I do?

I'm experiencing the same problems with Acrobat. Photoshop presents an http error.

The updater is a plug-in/relies upon plug-in technology (especially
SOAP) to work.
Disable plug-ins at start-up (hold SHIFT KEY) and then go PREFERENCE and
UPDATES. Select MANUALLY and QUIT Acrobat.
Now launch normally ...
