Intranet Site Searches - Macromedia Dreamweaver

Help please! I've spent hours trying to work out how to introduce a Site Search Engine to Intranet sites I maintain. I've read a number of previous posts in the forum and have noticed a number of people suggesting using Atomz, this is good for external websites but not suitable for intranet sites. Can anyone please help me at all, I need to get this sorted out quickly. Thanks in advance Gaz...

What type of platform is your Intranet's server on? Windows with IIS?

I know IIS offers a powerful Indexing Service tha allows you to do just
that. I know nothing about it and have never used it so you should try this
link below or head over to MS's IIS NG. I'm almost positive this will meet
    your needs though:

IIS indexing service is very good, and very fast. It takes a little while to
understand the MS templates, but once you get into it, it flies. I found a
book that I believe is now out of print, but available used. Designing and
Implementing Microsoft Index Server by SAMS. It was a real life saver.

    Hi,
You might try using the Yider free spider and search engine.

Everything about it can be found here:
    http://www.yart.com.au/articles/yider.asp

    The actuall files are here:
    http://www.yart.com.au/yider_0_339.zip

I've used the Yider on a 5000 pages intranet and it worked flwalessly (I used the SQL) version. You can use Access DB as well if you're more comfortable with it although Yider does the all work.
It can also index PDF files if you install some component (I don't remember it's name but it's all there in the links I wrote).

I found the IIS indexing service to be pretty annoying and hard to customize.

    Hope I helped,
    Goran

We have used Search Maker Pro on our Intranet for the past year. It is
relatively inexpensive (we paid about $40) and we have been satisfied with
    the product. Go to http://www.searchmakerpro.com/.
