"Invalid color" error every time Acrobat 7 is launched under Tiger
Under 10.4.1, every time I launch Acrobat 7 Pro, I see messages like this in my system log:
May 18 01:27:37 Muse /Applications/Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional/Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.app/Contents/MacOS/Acrobat: Invalid color: colored pattern specified with uncolored pattern colorspace.
Reinstalling did not help.
Anyone else?

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
Several people have reported this issue with Tiger. There is no fix
(whether to Acrobat or Tiger) at this time.

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
There is an update to Tiger X.4.1.
You might run that and see if anything has improved.
Note people on the apple board suggest there is a problem with the Software update route. But no trouble with the full installer on the apple site. The update is 37MB so you need at least a DSL or Cable line to get it or a good PPP connection and a willingness to let compute stay on over night.

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
There is no change under 10.4.1. I didn't run Tiger before 10.4.1.
Are you saying that you have updated to 10.4.1, and you're not seeing the error messages in the system log after you launch Acrobat?

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
No. I was just suggesting if your using X.4 maybe x.4.1 would help.
Personally I have Acrobat installed on my 17" PowerBook and I haven't run into the problem.
The Backup drive I haven't tried to run acrobat. because I can only run Acrobat on two machines. I suppose Acrobat would consider the backup drive as a third machine.

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
Have you actually looked in your system log?

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
No I hadn't needed to on the powerBook because, I've never had a problem with Acrobat 7.
I'll have to crank up the power book and look for message.
Just did.
checked system log before the X.4.1 update and after, that message shows.
Infact I checked the system log on my Desktop unit with X.3.9 does not show up after clearing log and opening Acrobat 7.0.1
Sounds like another bug adobe needs to fix.
anyone know what it would affect?

I have the same messages as Marc after upgrading to 10.4.1 yesterday.
It sure fills up the log files.

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
I noticed that too. in fact it wrote two pages of its self in the system log for the 16Th (under X.4) and Today under x.4.1
And all I did today was just open Acrobat 7.0.1. I didn't even open a Pdf.
Looks like I'll have to run YASU after each time I run acrobat just to keep system log size down.
MAJOR BUG!

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
See this thread <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128@@.3bba3173> for more information about this problem.
Be sure to submit a bug report <http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html>.
I spoke with someone at Adobe about this problem and, while the person I spoke with recognizes it as a serious problem, they were insistent that users submit bug reports so this gets priority from the developers.

Re: "Invalid color" error every time Acrobat7 is launched under Tiger
I have submitted the report.
If they are aware of the problem and know the severity (acting almost like a memory leak) Why do they need additional bug reports?
Seems like if they know about it they should fix it without additional bug reports. Seems like a smoke screen. Makes them look lazy no wanting to work on the problem unless the "Just have to". :-(
