While trying to set up a new wireless access point on the
network I obtained the " Access is denied " error from
running ip config /renew for the wireless connection.
After fiddling w/ the new wap for a while, i tried to
configure the same laptop on via a hardwire connection and
miraculously got the same error.

However in both LAN and WLAN cases, if i supply an IP for
the laptop, everything is dandy. We do have a firewall
running which also controls the DHCP, however, the laptop
has setting cloned from another laptop that also uses DHCP
w/ no problems.

Acess denied is a little vague so any insight into the
context would help.
