Default iPhoto + Canon Dig Elph times out? Doesn't download more than 50 pics at a time?

I have a Canon S200 digital Elph. On two different computers, I've
found it only downloads the first 50 pictures or so into iPhoto, and
then stops. I have to delete those from the camera and import again.

It works fine with Canon's Imagebrowser software. The camera is not
shutting off, it stays on, but just stops downloading.

    TIA for any help.

Yep. It's a bug in the Digital Elph firmware. My Digital Elph S330 does the
    same thing.

The fix: Turn off the "automatic power off" function in the camera. Set it so
it always stays on, even when it's idle.
