I realize this topic has been covered before, but I can't find a working
answer on newsgroup searches, so I'll ask again. My Palm IIIxe is refusing
to communicate with my Powerbook (Pismo), or vice versa. It was working
fine until I replaced the batteries in the Palm, then the Palm hard reset
itself. I went to hotsync, which it started normally so I went to do other
stuff, but when I came back I got the error message that it had only
partially synced (stopped while installing files), so I tried it again but
it wouldn't recognize anymore (no "waiting for sender" dialogue). I reset
it again and it still doesn't recognize. Beam receive from other Palms
works fine (oops, forget to check sending), connection is set to "IR to a
PC/Handheld" (I've tried different speeds down to 9600), and Hotsync Manager
is set to use IR at fastest possible speed. Sometimes the IR control panel
sees an IRCOMM device, sometimes it doesn't. I had a similar symptoms when
I first got the Palm, a couple years ago, but haven't had it since and don't
remember how I solved it. Palm site is useless since IR with Mac isn't
officially supported, of course. Oh, yeah, I'm using MacOS 9.2 (same as
before it stopped working). I didn't make any changes to my extensions and
have tried it with base extensions plus Palm. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Seng
