    Default Is <EMBED> necessary?

I'm realizing that the 23 html validator doesn't recognize the "src"
attribute of hte embed tag and so was wondering if I should drop the embed
part altogether since it doesn't seem to add anything to the already
sufficient object/param tags? do I need embed? Thanks.

Embed is necessary for Mozilla and Netscape, and I believe Opera to
    work.
