is spherical camera projection possible? - how? - Macromedia Director 3D

hi all, been searching for this some time now. i need to change the projection type of my camera from perspective to spherical. reason: there are vr projection systems that project the output of the graphics card onto the inside of a hollow half sphere using a special fisheye lens. thus you get a 180 field of view - immersing the viewer into the scene. the signal has to be processed the opposite way first - should look like its reflected by a 100% reflective sphere. is this possible with director(shockwave3d)? i know it would not be very fast, but ...

    It's not naitive supported, but you could do it with two 3d scenes. Grab the
    image of one and map that to a sphere on the other, it will be slow.
    Search this list for grabbing screenshot from 3d, and mapping textures in
    realtime.
