is the number of variables limited?

anybody out there, who reached the maximal number of variables in illustrator (10)?

any help appreciated.

What system are you running? What version AI are you running? What were you doing before an error popped up (if there was an error)?

thanks for your suggestions. we are running illustrator 10 on os-x-panther and did not get an error-message, ...yet. ahead there are about 600 variables waiting behind one tree.
and: there are several trees ... we did an 600-var-import with success (took about 10 seconds).

so we will rely on wade's post :-).

I'm unaware of any limit (other than RAM) on the number of Variables in AI.
