    Default Is there a Bold version of the Symbol font?

    Is there a Bold version of the Symbol font or how can I Bold the characters in
    the Symbol font. I frequent need Bold versions of alpha, beta, and gamma. Is
    there another font that I can use for these that would give me Bold versions.

    In Freehand, you can highlight the character and add a minute stroke to it
    to make a (usually) decent bold.

    Someone else has already suggested the 'cheat' of stroking the regular
    font, but for 'proper' bold Greek letters (and many other symbols &c.)
    you might consider acquiring Linotype's Mathematical Pi font family;
    it's probably available from Adobe and others.
