Default Is There Any Technical Reason Acrobat 7 forMac doesn't have feature parity with Windows?

I ask this question out of tru curiosity. Is there some technical issue that prevents Adobe from adding the "Save as PDF and email for review" button in Office for Macintosh? Or implement PDF workflow from within Entourage?

I have to keep a PC around to create PDF files from Microsoft Visio and Project, but I am finding the extra features in Office for Windows can come in pretty handy. OK, so it's a couple of steps more on the Mac - print the PDF, open it in Acrobat, and send for review. But it would be nice to have one-click access to do that.

So I ask the question, again, out of sincere curiosity: why aren't the applications at parity?

The applications are not at parity, because Microsoft has not made the
Word applications on both platforms at parity. There are hooks and
system OS calls in Windows that are not in the Mac application. Many
Word features are not accessible under the Mac OS. It may be possible to
do what you want via applescript. I have not checked into what commands
    are accessible.

According to Micrsoft people (under a program similar to Netscape Champions program) There are one or two items of difference between the two but the underlying codebase is Identical. except for Key Mappings , differences in Look and feel.

Some have expressed the opinion in the MacBU (section that creates the OfficeMac versions) that Mr Gates fears that if both become 100% compatibile That users will leave Office PC in Favor of Office Mac in Droves and droves. So despite the MacBU protest Higher up refuse to allow parity.

I wish we had a Democrat President Maybe we would have someone with the "ba***" to break up Microsoft under the Sherman AntiTrust act. There is no one in the world that should weild that much power. At one time he was openly working to Bankrupt Apple until a smart lawyer of his pointed out that if Apple went under there was "no" way he could aviod being broken up under the Sherman Antitrust act. Even Mr Bush couldn't intervene. So Its by the good graces of MS That Apple has remained in business. Until MS is Busted up in a 1000 little pieces Apple will never "fully" succeed. They will exist, they will make a dent, they will make a profit, but that's it. I still prefer to err on the side of making a dent. Rather than be a leming led to the water.

No matter what you may believe, Mike Kazlow is correct in this case. The Office apps, no matter what you want to believe are not the same on the Mac as they are on Windows. This is not a matter of opinion.

Mike and sws are correct. This has been discussed regularly for many years. That is the conclusion from all evidence available.
