Default is there anything similar to the 'collection' plug-in in Pagemaker?

    hi wizards,

I just converted to indesign and are pretty pleased with it. I just miss one function which was extremely handy for me in Pagemaker.

I had a collection of elements often used which can be dragged into the page. I had dozens of these elements which I now can't use anymore (stored in a .pml file). Even if I can't use the old library anymore is there a function in ID similar to that or I am just blind...?

    Thanks for any hints...

What I think you are after is an InDesign Library.
This is a kind of saveable paste board, which you can drag elements onto to store, and drag them off when you need them.
I use them for commonly used items a lot. I've saved several libraries for different customers so that i can keep logos, address blocks and commonly use images, even blocks of corporate colours in one place ready to use.

    File - New - Library

save it with a suitable name.

Open an InDesign document and simply drag any items you want from the page onto the library palette, naming the items as you go.
